We Create is an arts action group that formed in 2016. It is a collaborative partnership between Hardwick Gallery (University of Gloucestershire) and residents in the communities of St Peter’s and St Paul’s (Cheltenham). We Create work together to share time, skills and resources, co-commissioning ambitious projects and public events with artists and allies, and people that live, work and study in the area.

 

In the early stages of our project, we worked in association with Take A Part. The group incorporated as We Create Cheltenham CIC in 2020. We aim to stimulate interest and understanding of the rich heritage of St Peter’s and St Paul’s, to connect residents, and to create opportunities for people to engage with art and everyday creativity. In our projects we aim to minimise environmental and human costs through responsible guardianship of the planet and its resources, respect for our communities, and care for the people we work with. We work towards environmental improvement and net zero carbon emissions for our projects by learning about and exploring alternatives to mass production and harmful processes and materials.
